Your DVR (Digital Video Recorder) has nothing but Disney movies
You could eat lunch from the fare found in your couch cushions
Every sharpie or felt pen in the house is dried up, caps hovering in the corners
Your trunk holds frisbies, kites, water, sweatshirts and goldfish
Your Friday night movie is Home Alone or High School Musical
You actually DO have a favorite Jonas Brother
"Date Night" is grandpa taking the 11-year-old to the girl scouts dance

Ahha, so that's what I have to look forward to. Thanks for the insight as I'll be a grandparent in another month.
Aloha!
I am not a grandma, my children are in college and high school and my DVD collection has every Disney movie ever made of course they are on VHS! :)I loved your post!
Oh Richard, the fun you'll have. It's the reward for living through all the hard stuff. And the good news is that they grow up and give their parents the same kind of fun they gave you...but you get to enjoy it from afar and the good stuff is close up and personal.
Kristin, well there is that too...we have the vhs and dvd's...grandpa is a soft touch for disney too...And we are sooo lucky they live close by so we get to see them alot.
Terrylynn,
I am a grandparent, but I am not to that stage yet. My little ones are infants and toddlers. Love to see the changes occuring. Can't wait till they get a little older. :-)

I just laughed as I read this post, Terrylynn! My parents have every Disney DVD ever produced. My mother keeps a stash of Goldfish and cheese nips in her bag at all times (just in case she stops by), their cabinets are stocked with juice boxes, capri suns, and graham crackers. My dad has a drawer in his night stand that is called "the candy store" by all the kids in our family. Both of my parents' cars have toys, blankets, and "extra" stuff in the trunks. Just hilarious!
But you wouldn't trade it for the world, would you?

Brigita, they are soo much fun at that age too...love the making them laugh and all the firsts...oh gosh, how wonderful it is. Enjoy
Renae, sounds familiar, I knew it would resonnate. I was just cleaning up the house and we got to laughing about how full of grandkids our lives are. It's amazing and quite a blessing. Thanks for sharing your similar grandparents...I feel kindred spirits there in your neck of the woods.
Terrylynn, this sounds awfully like what it is like to be a parent too! :) Especially the DVR full of kids programming and the overabundance of food in my couch!!
This gave me quite a chuckle! I enjoy 4 grandchildren, and usually have a carseat in the back seat. Thanks!
Annie, I know, it's nice to see a parent enjoy them. Being in your home was a true treat and it's obvious that you have a family home and the children are a huge part of the space and life you choose. They are lucky kids and you are lucky parents to have them too. I truly believe we choose our parents ... so they are in for a life of great experiences with you for their mum. Best to you.
Fred, gotcha...carseat and crackers, etc. Glad you got a laugh.
