Staging-It's all in the Details.
It's always interesting to watch a rehab and staging of a property. The work is done, it's beautifully neutral and a blank slate for the staging crew to make magnificent. You begin to put in the furniture and the rooms fill with promise. Then you look around and it's all still a bit bland.
In the staging team it is not unusual to have one of the team who gets the BIG picture, others get the details. Have a great team that combines those and you end up with phenomenal staging. When we walked into this living room after staging, it looked oh so nice, but it needed just a little something to tie it all together. And little it was, but the result was finished.
What do you think? Show us some of your DETAILS!!! (The frosting on the cake, the finishing touch. Clayton, California Property listed the week of 12-09-09.. We'll let you know when it sells.)

Added the oranges to the bowl of natural items to pick up the color of the pillows and the picture.

The candles themselves were a little stark. Warmth was added by the holly.

Capped off the pears with a little nature...nuts in the shells from outside the house, frames them perfectly!

Great examples on how to make things pop. And yes they were quite simple. Thanks for the post
That's what we call making it POP, and that's why we sweat the small stuff when it comes to staging. Thanks for showing it so well!
Randy, I know, it's the little things. Thanks for commenting.
Laurie, yes, this is one case where sweating the small stuff makes a positive difference.
These are great pictures showing the simplicity of color... the "after" photos just look better!
Great examples of how a professional staging eye can pull it together with the right details. Minor changes with major impact - the rooms have a better flow and finished look. Thanks for sharing.
It is the small and simple. The devil is in the details with such big results. Thanks for posting, Terrylynn!
Hello Terrylyn, hope your doing well. Such subtle touches made all the difference in th world in your examples. I think the thing that separates the real pros from the pack is the eye to add those little touches. Very nice work.
Terrylynn,
Isn't it amazing what a little bit can add to the total picture? Your comparisons proved that a little actually is a lot!
That special touch that invokes a feeling is what can seal the deal. Thanks for sharing my special friend ;)
I'm notorious for going outside for some extra pop, if the homewoner is lacking accessories. There's always something interesting to use!
Shoshana, thanks for commenting.
Michele, you know it's just amazing every time I see it...the little things do finish it off. I am amazed at how many people don't "see" it to the finish.
Bill that's right, that devil...
Gary, thanks, been missing our regular chats, we'll have to just catch up one of these days. Hi to Linda.
Anthea, a little can do a lot, said very well. Thanks for commenting.
Lori, sealed the deal alright. Love the results.
Cindy, I know, that's really what happened, there was just a void that needed filling and I didn't have anything in the truck...so outside and found the pieces on the ground, and they were the perfect ending. Thanks for commenting.
TerryLynn, I'm thinking we'll be seeing you soon!
I am LOVING your subtle details! Thanks for all of the hints!
I am constantly amazed how the slightest changes can make such a difference! (I'm always changing and re-arranging until it's just right.) Good job!
My favorite part of my stagers services is the DETAILS! The final showcasing is really the finishing touches that make all the difference. They are things that I wouldn't notice if they weren't there but when they are there, it's such a nice impact. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Gary, how's that??? That would be lovely. I'd love for you to come our way. Hugs, T
Renee thanks, it's the details that put the wow factor in, ehhh??? I am a Libra, and that's the part that keeps me from stopping until it's just right...but I can't stop until I see it complete.
Joan, me too, just can't stop. Don't care if it's late and I have to go, if I just don't feel it I have to go until I do.
Michele, that wouldn't be the Divine Ms. MM would it? Of course the details are the frosting on the cake and she's a master baker, ehhh???
